#Runway to #RealWay: Sally LaPointe’s Pre-Fall 2017 Collection

Despite the lack of cooler temperatures in Houston, I’m itching to spread my wings when it comes to winter dressing. I’m beyond ready to whip out my oversized knit sweaters, sultry over-the-knee boots and faux fur toppers that effortlessly ooze those ultra glam feels us fashion lovers simply can’t get enough of!

In lieu of suffering from seasonal withdrawals, I’ve found myself pulling inspiration from a slew of Pre-Fall 2017 presentations including Sally LaPointe’s exuberant collection which features sleek silhouettes, elegant mixed textures, tons of neutral palettes and slight slivers of midriff. This dope accumulation of sartorial inspiration reigns supreme throughout my favorite Pinterest boards and I figured it’d be neat to incorporate some of my favorite looks in a quick #Runway to #RealWay post.

Keep reading to discover how you can incorporate these high fashion combinations into your everyday looks!

1) Amp up sequins with on-trend sleeve accents.

I’ve spotted a few celeb starlets (including Karrueche Tran) rocking this “neck-and-sleeves” combo and, honestly, it’s still growing on me. Yet, there’s an edgy appeal that resonates when paired with a high-slit sequin gown, a vivacious black fur stole and lace-up boots. This style moment is pure magic!

2) Go monochrome!

One of the best things about winter styling is the ability to spice up a frock with bold colors. Whether you’re uplifting fiery reds, gritty greens or bombastic blues, a play on eye-catching hues can take a simple look from 0 to 100 real quick. Want to add an element of surprise to your pairing? Take a cue from the model and mix your textures.

3) Don’t forget your metallics.

Silver, gold and bronze are all perfect for the colder months. If you want to channel your inner Rihanna or Zendaya, throw on a lux moto jacket that boasts hard-to-miss faux fur and impeccable tailoring.

4)  Combine sheer & lace-up detailing to flaunt risque vibes.

Showing hints of skin can still give way to tons of sex appeal. You don’t have to display every single curve nor do you have to showcase an ample amount of cleavage but there’s always a bit of intrigue surrounding a woman who can be both demure and confident in such show-stopping elements.

5) Two-piece sets are your friend. Use them to your advantage!

Yes, soft gray knit two-piece sets are an absolute godsend. For those nights where you can’t decide how to slay in your go-to distressed jeans or that classic LBD, step outside the box and opt for a strapless lace-up tube top and a matching skirt. Trust me, you’ll turn heads everywhere!

6) Whip out those dual tone trousers!

For my more conservative readers, simply don an eccentric hoodie alongside black and white, slim fit pants. The athleisure trend is showing no signs of slowing down and it’s one of the easiest ways to style such a relaxed piece.

Whew! Talk about inspiration overload!
