Making Moves: Naturally Happy Hair’s The Blogger’s Bloc Luncheon and Workshop

I’m always game for hitting up phenomenal events in #Houston! So, when one of my dearest loved ones invited me out for The Blogger’s Bloc Luncheon and Workshop hosted by Naturally Happy Hair, I was super excited to dip by and indulge in the festivities.

Held at The Magnolia Hotel in the crux of Downtown Houston, The Blogger’s Bloc featured  speakers included Own By Femme’s gorgeous leading lady René Daniella and Space City sweetheart Sheela Goh. The overall premise of the event honed in on teaching rising blogger darlings the ins and outs of building a solid social media presence, conquering the idea of transforming your passion into a full-blown business and taking the necessary steps to ensure you achieve the maximum level of success. There were about 50 women in attendance; yet, the small and intimate environment really added to the effectiveness of the workshop.

First off, the venue was bananas! With this being my first experience at The Magnolia Hotel, I was instantly taken back by the eclectic decorum that screamed pure modernism with a touch of timeless elegance. Take a look at some of the shots I captured below!

I’m sure I can speak for the myriad of attendees as I say, “We came. We saw. We conquered.” We received knowledge from some of the finest in the industry and we even learned the real significance of creating a business plan and following through on it at every angle. To the Naturally Happy Hair founder herself, Mrs. Crystal Knight, take a bow my love because you did an impeccable job of planning and executing such a colossal occasion! You’ve touched numerous lives and your dream continues to encourage those of us who are still striving towards personal excellence. I salute you.

The luncheon was also out of this world! After cozying up and absorbing as much information as we possibly could, attendees were also served lunch via The Magnolia’s bomb catering squad. The menu consisted of glazed pecan crust chicken, home-style mashed potatoes, savory carrots and fresh rolls. I fell head over heels in love with the main course! And, let’s not forget about the elegant place settings. I literally felt as if I walked into a scene from Sex and the City; however, the only thing missing were my gals. 🙂

Sidenote: I even got the chance to chop it up with The Curl Crew on Curl Life Radio on a few topics including budget-friendly shopping, cultivating your brand and all things Fashion Bomb Daily! It was soooooo much fun.

All in all, Naturally Happy Hair certainly outdid themselves with this shindig. I was enlightened beyond belief and I didn’t realize that there were so many different kinds of bloggers: from fashion to world travel to parenting, my eyes were instantly opened to the possibilities of how powerful quality content can truly be. Many of the women in attendance were new bloggers but their passion and dedication illuminated the entire room! At one point, I found myself glancing around in a sea of business cards, Instagram exchanges and motivating one-on-one conversations and my heart literally danced at the excitement of it all. We, as women, have a responsibility to stick together regardless of what society may say (or think) – in that moment, I was 100% sure that I was in the right place at the right time. I can honestly say I left this event feeling even more powerful than I already was. And, there’s no greater feeling!
