Gucci is setting the tone for on-season trends! The Italian brand has catapulted itself into a street style mainstay that is uplifted by Tinseltown’s most unpredictable divas including Rihanna, Queen Bey, Bonang Matheba, ASAP Rocky and more! With creative director Alessandro Michele at the helm of this pivotal fashion house, it’s safe to say that Gucci is the brightest fashion house of year. With that, let’s jump into my favorite looks from the Resort 2017 collection!
Prepare yourselves for mixed textures, over-the-top accessories, leg-grazing heels and personality so robust you’re sure to fall in love with Gucci even more!
1) Entice all your friends with a print party trio!
If you’re the fearless friend who loves a good ‘ol challenge, why not wear three contrasting prints at the same damn time? Timeless polka dots, sequin multicolored chevron stripes and leopard red-trimmed fur are always a good idea!
2) Go for a classic graphic tee and jeans combo, but add quirky accessories.
One thing I love about Gucci is their ability to take relatable ‘fits and sculpt them into runway gold. In this case, the brand effortlessly turns a tee and jeans one-hitter-quitter into sartorial magic! With a gold textured turban, acid-washed high-waisted jeans and an exaggerated cat-eye, this look is perfect for a night out with the girls, a quick fashion show or even a local event appearance.
3) Add an eclectic wide-brim hat!
Wide-brim hats are summer essentials that can be paired with a multitude of frocks. They add a bit of eclectic flair to the chicest of looks. Sidenote: Oversized gem-encrusted earrings and oval-framed eyewear are optional.
4) Go rocker-chic in full-on tartan and animal embellishments.
How can you deny the power of a powerful tartan piece? Gucci transcends fashion boundaries while introducing this 90’s grunge staple as a closet must-have for fashionistas everywhere. Pairing this look with a clashing snakeskin print only amps up the style forwardness.
5) Try a more daring take on tartan (by incorporating a quilted bomber jacket and a printed scarf)!
This one is pretty self-explanatory. An intricately-detailed bomber and a pleated tartan skirt provide a no-fuss formula for a prep-meets-Nirvana type ensemble.
6) Throw in a twist to rocking a patriotic-hued matching set!
I’ve always been a fan of matching sets. Not only do they add a certain level of “togetherness” to your overall aesthetic, but they also allow room for witty and unexpected accents. In this case, Gucci went above and beyond by fusing a ladylike skirt suit with lavender lace leggings and embellished flats.
So, there you have it! The “street style” friendly way to channel your inner Gucci goddess!
