Making Moves: Gracing the Soundwaves for The Dr. Dawn Show’s Femme Friday Fashion Overload Radio Feature

On Friday, I had the privilege of being featured on The Dr. Dawn Show alongside fashion blogger LuLu Mapande of Akello Chic!

Although I’ve never had radio experience, this once-in-a-lifetime occasion was clearly one for the books. Dr. Dawn is a trusted friend and colleague whom I had the pleasure of meeting almost a year ago. After we met, our relationship blossomed and we continued to keep in touch. We ran into each other at various Houston events and we continued to cross paths until she invited me to be a featured guest on her critically-acclaimed show!

At first, I was nervous. I didn’t quite know what to expect. But, upon arriving to Houston Media Source and finally sitting down with Dawn and LuLu, gracing the local airwaves quickly became one of the year’s best experiences, hands down.

Simply entitled “Femme Friday Fashion Overload”, the hour-long show consisted of intriguing dialogue that included topics including fashion, self-confidence, beauty and self-awareness. We even gabbed about the style icons of Hollywood, tips & tricks for amping up your personal wardrobe and the importance of dressing for your body type. It was too much fun!

Being showcased on The Dr. Dawn Show helped me to truly appreciate the greatness behind trying out new things. Now, I’m not the most vocal influencer our there but I’m slowly coming into my own as a woman, a professional and as a person. I’m still learning how to craft my words to make them more powerful; however, I’m also open to expanding my overall skill of public speaking. I’d like to thank Dawn Paul for giving me a chance to contribute my personal input on topics that affect women in their day-to-day lives. I’m a firm believer in encouraging the betterment of women everywhere and this opportunity was perfect in every sense.

To hear the full conversation, listen here! I can’t wait to hit the airwaves again!

Did any of you tune in on Friday? If so, what were your favorite topics? And, what did you take from the conversation?

xoxo,
