Making Moves: Spewing Magic at the reNew and reDo Fashion Show Blogger’s Preview at The Cottage Shop

Last night, I attended the ReNew and ReDO Fashion Show Blogger Preview (hosted by The Women’s Home) at The Cottage Shop!  With my friend Mimi Irvin of Meye Label serving as one of the chairs for this year’s presentation, I knew I had to go out and support. With the upcoming 2017 show taking place at The Ballroom at Bayou Place, this was the perfect way to kick start such a momentous occasion.

This was my first time at The Cottage Shop and it certainly won’t be my last! The Cottage Shop is a one-stop shop for everything thrifted and vintage. Located at 811 Westheimer, The Cottage Shop combines the elements of throwback gems with the modern flair of trendy must-haves. And, their expertise doesn’t stop at clothes! From exquisite furniture to charming porcelain tea sets, The Cottage Shop resonates as a store filled with incomparable personality and endless touches of upscale elegance.

According to The Women’s Home website, …The Cottage Shop has been a Houston treasure in the Montrose area since 1971. [The quaint store provides] a fun shopping experience for the community and generates nearly 17% of The Home’s operating income. Since 1957, The Women’s Home has provided a real chance for women in crisis to achieve dignity, self-sufficiency and meaning. Through our unique WholeLife program, we build healthy lives by fostering community and focusing on six componenets of wellness: mental and emotional, physical, socail, spiritual, vocational and financial. By embraciing the whole person, we prepare women and their families to become empowered and productive forces in their homes and communities.”

FYI: Before the evening was over, I actually ended up purchasing a vintage-inspired Alabama “Roll Tide” oversized tee for only 12 bucks. Um, can you say a steal?

I’d like to extend a special thank you to Mimi for inviting me out to preview the designs featured in this year’s ReNew and ReDo Fashion Show! It was a pleasure getting to know the master minds behind The Cottage Shop brand and I can’t wait to see what their gorgeous duds hit the runway.
