Simon Porte Jacquemus is a visionary. This rising talent’s effortless ability to transform your wardrobe’s most basic pieces into effervescent, sartorial goodness remains unmatched. You can catch his most coveted essentials being uplifted by fashion sweethearts, Hollywood showstoppers and street style connoisseurs everywhere.
In this installment of Runway to Real Way, bask in the uber-cool aura of this iconic brand, while also taking a few notes for your own arsenal. Prepare to be inspired!
1) Suit up, ladies!
Printed suits are all the rage for the Spring season! Amp up a conservative moment by simply donning a bralet, instead of reaching for the predictable button-up. Locs are always a dope touch!
2) Opt for eye-catching colors.
Bright hues, such as whimsical yellows, pinks, greens, blues and oranges, look absolutely stunning against melanin. Girl, become your own ray of sunshine!
3) Opposites attract!
Exhibit a bit of juxtaposition with a look that incorporates both masculine and feminine appeal. The boxiness of the artsy, landscape button-up plays perfectly with the super-sheer, flirty midi dress added underneath. Oversized vacation hats are optional.
4) Go big or go home.
This was one of my favorite looks from Jacquemus’ Spring 2020 Ready-to-Wear collection. From the luscious pink blazer to the beaded single-statement earring, my heart literally skipped a beat. To all my chicas who adore the size-up steez, this is your jam!
5) Creams, Ivories and Whites = Total Wins
If you’re looking to channel your inner Elvira Hancock, stun in a ‘fit that transcends all fashion realms. There’s just something so damn intoxicating about a refined, monochromatic moment. Be wary, taking this route is not for the faint of heart.
There you have it, just a few of the Jacquemus looks, plaguing my mind for this season’s concrete runway. Which look was your fave?
Sound off below: let me know what trends you are excited to rock for Spring! Asymmetrical earrings? Oversized blazers? Pops of color? Or, feminine suiting?
