Y’all, I Went Viral

Sistahs, how ya’ll feel? Brothas, ya’ll alright?

My God is too good! Let me tell you. It has been a rollercoaster of a week. First, start things off by addressing the elephant in the room… I went viral!

Now, before you say anything, all of this was totally unexpected. I literally sat down in my room, watched an Instagram Live, wrote the article (as I watched the Instagram Live) and posted my thoughts as soon as the epic event ended. In a single night, my lil’ blog raked in almost 7,000 shares and, by the end of the next day, I was well over 10,000 shares… and growing. My DMs were on fire, my texts were uber lit and the positive feedback was as soothing as a warm cup of jasmine tea. For the entire week, I was on cloud nine… floating!

As of today, the highly-raved article sits at almost 20,000 shares on Facebook alone, with 146,000 views total on WordPress. I’m not even sure how many times it’s been shared on Instagram, Twitter and other social media platforms. But, hey, I am grateful for the growth! It’s been a long time coming, and for years, I have written on EsmeshaCampbell.com as a creative outlet to my already-hectic life. At times, I’ve even felt that my work was in vain. I cannot tell you how many times I just wanted to delete my domain and forget about ever blogging again. But, a higher power had other plans.

I’ll admit: this mega push has broadened my outlook on this platform being more than just a blog, it’s my livelihood. It’s my passion.

Many of you have been introduced to me, by way of the Erykah Badu and Jill Scott phenom; however, only a select few lovelies have decided to continue to rock me by either subscribing via email or simply by following along on WordPress. Just know I am forever grateful. I held off writing any follow up blogs because I just didn’t know how to counter the innumerable success of my last piece. But, the exposure and encouragement from my community has pushed me to stay consistent in simply writing what stems from my heart. And, that is what I plan to do.

So, if you’re new to this, thanks a million for joining the family! I welcome you with open arms, peaceful energy and a love deeper than you could ever imagine. Thank you for allowing me to express my true self. Let’s embark on this journey together!
