Runway to Real Way: Nanushka’s Spring/Summer 2020 Ready-to-Wear Collection

I fell in love with Nanushka after spotting one of their designs on one of Insecure‘s main characters, Molly. The sistah was rocking this divine cream, terry knit bodysuit, during a trip to Mexico with her beau, Andrew. I literally gagged. You can see Molly’s look pictured below:

After doing a bit of research on who she was rocking, Nanushka became an immediate obsession. Thanks, Shiona Turini!

Just a brief smidget on the brand: Founded by Hungarian fashion connoisseur Sandra Sandor, Nanushka is known for their effortless ability to combine the ease of contemporary fashion with an “East meets West” type feel. Nanushka’s signature details immaculate fits, rich tones, and consistent injections of femininity. In their own words, “Nanushka delivers a modern, versatile, day to night wardrobe for the modern human with the aim of creating a new informal form of beauty.

So, keep reading to find out which looks made the cut for this week’s installment of Runway to Real Way!

1) Earth tones scream opulence!

My loves, dressing modestly does not have to be boring. When looking to elevate your look, always opt for warmer hues, intricate detailing and quality fabrics.

2) Texture matters.

Satin is king. And, queen. And, the entire royal court! Satin is the perfect texture for making a statement, without trying too hard. Add minimal, lace-up sandals for a more down-to-earth feel.

3) A crochet dress can be used for double duty.

Surprise! A crochet dress can be used as a swimsuit cover up, a freakum dress (if you’re feeling adventurous), or as an added layer for your ‘fit. In this look, I adore how the brand used the rustic, printed silk cami as a topper for the black, fringed crochet dress for a  nifty slay.

4) Burnt orange, pistachio and ivory = color goals

Remember the equation! Simply put: this color combination is absolute heaven. Pop on an oversized ivory leather bag for an unexpected jolt of contemporary intrigue.

5) Embrace your inner surfer chic.

An epic tomboy moment is a welcome stray away from uber-trendy summer looks. Opt for more relaxed silhouettes and genius layering. Don’t forget your vintage sunnies!

Nanushka is everything, no? It’s just something about the brand’s no-fuss slayage and the undeniable appeal behind such versatile designs. I simply cannot get enough of them. I’ve been browsing The Real Real and Net-A-Porter, hoping to luck up on a few of their pieces on sale. Finger crossed!

Anywho, which look was your fave? Did you pick up any outfit inspiration of your own? Comment down below!
