Adiós, 2020!

The world lived at home, toilet paper became a hot (and fleeting) commodity and our modes of sanity were tested as we clasped together in times of need. From the upheaval of the #BlackLivesMatter movement to the U.S. Presidential Election, 2020 didn’t serve up any dull moments.

In 2020, I went viral (with almost 20,000 article shares). I experienced heartbreak. I stayed true to remaining consistent in running this blog. I embraced luxury. I discovered the weight and responsibility of being an “essential” worker. I stepped outside of my comfort zone. I questioned the spirit of humanity. I collaborated with some of the most dynamic creatives my city has to offer. I took on leadership roles. I accepted failure and disappointment. I also learned that there is nothing greater than prayer. Most of all, I remained inspired and optimistic through it all.

As 2021 makes her entrance, let us all take time to sit back and appreciate those little moments that have helped to get us through this tumultuous time. I’m excited to see what greatness will come and I’m even happier for a fresh start.

To all my readers: thank you so much for rocking with me this year! My hope is that my blog can continue to offer some type of escape. You are appreciated beyond words. Without you, I wouldn’t be able to continue to express myself on this platform. I am forever grateful for your support. The best is yet to come.

“Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.”
