Maintaining an effective beauty routine during the summer months is tough. Heat is not my best friend and neither is humidity; however, living in Houston, I simply cannot escape the two. So, I figured I would share a few of my go-to products that have made surviving the season possible.
From combating pesky skin inflammation to including moisture (without feeling greasy, sticky and sweaty), I have an entire slew of beauty necessities to choose from. Keep reading to find out which bomb items made the cut!
1) Pattern’s Heavy Conditioner for Coilies, $25 – $42

Tracee Ellis Ross’ beauty line, Pattern, has made tremendous waves in the hair care world. I especially love the Heavy Conditioner for Coilies which works wonders for nourishing, hydrating and refining my tight curls. Highly recommended to all my naturalistas out there!
2) The Honey Pot’s Sensitive Feminine Wipes, $10

If you’re searching to incorporate more organic alternatives into your beauty routine, look no further. My faves are The Honey Pot’s Sensitive Feminine Wipes which boost moisture levels, help to regulate pH and help to inject a cool, refreshing moment into your busy schedule. Perfect for intimate parts, body and face care, notable ingredients include coconut oil, cucumber and aloe vera. I usually use these handy wipes after working out and even during those icky sweaty moments we encounter with the rising temps.
3) Jo Malone London’s Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne, $144

Jo Malone London is one of those beauty brands that just gets it. The quality of their products scream luxury and sophistication. The Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne is a summer essential. This luscious fragrance is infused with sage base notes, sea salt heart notes and tops notes of ambrette seeds. Spritz this number to instantly transport your senses to a tropical getaway!
4) The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% Serum, $6

The Ordinary recently hit my beauty radar a few months back. After discovering how affordable their line is (during an impromptu Ulta visit), the water-based Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% Serum became a blind buy. But, let me tell you, I have zero regrets. Ideal for acne-prone skin: this must-have helps to reduce the signs of congestion and visible sebum activity and aids in appearance of textural irregularities.
5) Sol de Janeiro’s Bum Bum Cream, $45

Need a summertime body lotion? Check out Sol de Janeiro’s best-selling Bum Bum Cream! Prepare to immerse yourself in pistachio, salted caramel and vanilla. Do I need to say anymore?
6) LANEIGE’s Lip Sleeping Mask, $22

LANEIGE is another beauty brand that has been killing the game. Although I have not used a large majority of their products, the few I have tried were keepers. The Lip Sleeping Mask is my personal dose of bedtime extraness. Slather this on before you take your night’s rest and wake up with uber soft and totally kissable lips.
There you have it! Although this list is only compiled of six beauty products, I’ve been dedicated to amping up my summertime beauty routine. I’m curious though: what are types of beauty essentials do you enlist for the summer? Sound off below! Drop any gems you think would be beneficial to add to my rotation. Thanks for reading!
