Bottega Veneta is having a moment. The Italian luxury fashion house has taken the world by storm with their modern take on minimalism that transcend the bounds of pure glam. Bottega Veneta’s creative director, Daniel Lee (who is set to make an exit from the brand in February 2022), helped to revive the conventional repute of Bottega’s past collections into a street style staple for fashion sweethearts everywhere.
The undeniable success of Bottega Veneta also included some iconic accessory drops including the perennial “Lido” mule and the ever-popular “Pouch” clutch bag. Yet, my personal fave was the Cassette Chain-Embellished Intrecciato Leather Shoulder Bag.

Retailing for a whopping $4,000, this subtle statement-maker has solidified its place in style history with a cult following which includes the likes of fashion icons such as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (above left) and Emili Sindlev (above right).
The bag boasts a single interior zipped pocket, a metal closure and a padded intreccio style. Although the opulent vibes are quite apparent, the price point is nowhere near attainable for the everyday working woman.

Enter in Ego Official. After sifting through innumerable Black Friday sales, I ran across this fast-fashion haven for shoes, clothing and trendy bags. Low and behold: I spied that Ego had a pretty decent dupe for Bottega Veneta’s sought-after stunner.
Ego’s Jackson Chain Detail Quilted Shoulder Bag rings in originally at $89.99 but, (thanks to end-of-the-year deals) she’s available here for only $44.99. Ego’s version also uplifts multiple colors including nude, green and black. My sister and I both copped the dark brown option.
Now, tell me, how can you beat saving $3,900? Stick with me, I’ll take you far 🙂

Always remember: purchasing “what’s hot” is cool but being broke is not a good look. If an item doesn’t fit in your budget, keep your eyes peeled for dupes. We can’t all go to Christian Dior, Celine and Alexander Wang to ball out, but we can infuse our wardrobe with pieces that are inspired by their designs.
