Summer beauty is bae. There’s not greater feeling than nourishing your tresses, exfoliating that skin and keeping those pearly whites glistening.
I’m a simple woman and I enjoy indulging in no-fuss beauty that produces enduring effects while not breaking the bank. Keep reading to get into my top picks for the season!
Skin Care:
Olay’s Collagen Firming and Hydrating Body Lotion ($9.99) is a godsend for long-lasting moisture. The anti-aging benefits are evident, without leaving a greasy film across your body.
Caudalie’s Beauty Elixir ($18-$49) doubles as a plant-based face mist, a toner, a setting spray and a natural skin refresher. I carry a small bottle in my everyday bag and (when I need a quick pick-me-up) I spray a few pumps. Infused with essential oils in such as lemon balm, peppermint, rosemary, grape and rose – this pick is sure to leave you with an undeniable glow.
Next up, Patrick Ta’s Major Glow Body Oil in Rosé ($22-$52) adds a luxe shimmer to all types of melanin. Headed to a pool day? Spritz this one for added illumination! Without a doubt, this was one of my favorite beauty buys for my recent trek to Jamaica.
Sun protection is necessary. Black Girl Sunscreen’s Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 ($15.99) got you covered with their paraben-free formula which fights premature aging, dark spots, hyperpigmentation and fine lines. Listen, she’s white cast proof, as well. Throw it in the bag!
Hair Care:
For my sistas, it’s protective style season! I’ve been rocking my Marley twists (since early June) and maintaining scalp health is the main priority. I discovered Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight ($13.99) on a whim. I was on a search for a quick fix to cleanse and moisturize my natural hair because the itch was real!
I simply applied the product throughout my hair and rinsed with water. The Wash Day Delight formula contains aloe with provides your mane with a deep cleanse, without excessive friction. I follow up with applying a personal mix of essential oils. Perfect for those indulgent, self-care days.
Dental Care:
Coffee and tea are great, but the detriment they wreck on teeth is a hassle. Happy to say – I am on a tooth whitening journey. Aside from 6-month visits to my dentist, I’ve also invested in Crest 3D White Strips Noticeably White ($38). It’s still a little early to sing massive praises (I’ve only completed about five treatments); however, application is quite simple, and the convenience is unmatched.

Neutrogena Hydro-Boost Cleansing Towelettes with Hyaluronic Acid ($9.99) are a holy grail product for my summer skin care! I use these anytime I need a quick cleanse – after the gym, in the morning, after sweating while outside. They’re the best.
The TonyMoly I’m Real Nourishing Sheet Mask in Honey ($3.75) brightens tired and dull skin with its 20-minute application. Apply, relax and remove. That’s it. I typically pull these out after a hectic day, right after I complete my nighttime skin routine.
